In August of 2022 I found an old tapestry blanket at the thrift store and decided to make a tote bag out of it. I had learned how to sew about a year prior in an elective course at school and decided that I wanted to put those newfound skills to the test. I made the bag and immediately fell in love with it. Not only did I like it, but I realized others liked it too. This inspired me to continue making these bags, slowly but surely acquiring a couple dozen of them. 

   In October of 2023 I decided that I wanted to take this craft of mine to the next level and create a business for it. From this point forward I solely created my website from scratch, established social media platforms, curated designs, promoted and advertised my brand, and fully leapt in to the making of this business. 

   In December of 2023 my company, The Rose Garden, officially launched. Its launch revealed my fully completed and self-curated website, as well as a drop of 30 one-of-a-kind and handmade tote bags made out of recycled materials. I was met with so much support and appreciation, allowing my launch to be a successful one. 

   My main reason for embarking on this journey was to not only honor my passions, interests, and those who inspire me, but to create a pathway for myself. My goal was to establish an environment that I aspire to be in one day. Not only would I be able to get an idea of what it is like to work in the career I hope to be in one day, but I could do so while showcasing my talents and put my business skills to the test. I live by the idea that you can create the life you want to live and The Rose Garden has allowed me to start to live the creative yet business-oriented career I hope to be in one day.
